Microsoft announced on 23rd feb that an official Facebook Messenger app will be hitting Windows Phone in the coming weeks, but it looks like that’s not the only new messaging app that’s headed for the Windows Phone Store’s virtual shelves.
BlackBerry announced today that it’s bringing BBM to Windows Phone and the Nokia X family of devices. Neither BlackBerry nor Nokia have revealed many details about the BBM apps for Windows Phone and Nokia X, but BlackBerry says that its messaging app will launch on Windows Phone this summer. Nokia also announced today that Adobe Photoshop Express and Foodpanda apps are coming soon to Windows Phone.

Windows Phone’s app ecosystem is still one of the most frequently discussed topics regarding Microsoft’s platform. While the Windows Phone app catalog is now home to over 240,000 apps, including biggies like Pandora and Instagram, some people still feel that app selection is one of Windows Phone’s weak points. It looks like Microsoft is working hard to address that matter, though, and while BBM itself isn’t likely to end the app issue that some feel Windows Phone has, the BlackBerry messaging app is still a major gain for the Windows Phone.
if you’re a Windows Phone user, what are some of your must-have apps? And for you non-Windows Phone folk, which apps would Microsoft’s platform need in order to make it easy for you to switch?what’s your choice and ideas regarding this?
